METRIC CHARACTERISTICS OF THE MEASURING INSTRUMENT FOR ASSESSING THE FLEXIBILITY OF A SHOULDER GIRDLE

METRIJSKE KARAKTERISTIKE MJERNOG INSTRUMENTA ZA PROCJENU FLEKSIBILNOST RAMENOG OBRUČA

Abstract

The goal of this paper is to apply the measuring instruments to assess flexibility of a shoulder girdle, and to establish some metric characteristics of the test. The study was conducted on a sample of 38 second grade students of the Vocational High-School Siroki Brijeg. The sample of variables is composed of 3 standard tests for measuring shoulder girdle flexibility and a modified test for measuring shoulder girdle flexibility. The idea for the modification of the test was obtained „on the ground“, when the respondent reached „extremly high“ test result, and with the previous instruments we were unable to measure the movement in its entirety The results of the research indicate that the adequate reliability and homogeneity of the test, as well as pragmatic and factorial validity, were established. The explanation of these results is that tests with its isolates well the shoulder girdle from the influence of other topological regions. The construction of the test itself allows a wide application, which is very important because it is potentially useful in all age groups.
