Abstract

Sports are classified in several ways, among them exist those sports where results can be specificly measured. This group of sports includes athletics, cycling skiing and swimming among others. The results in these sports are significantly effected by the coefficiency of drag, so that the logical efforts to improve the production technology of the requisit sports equipment and for personal sports equipment that they have an adequate coefficient of drag. The paper presents the possibilities for nanotechnology, its impact in the sport of swimming and points to the perspective that it offers to sports performance products, with an emphasis on the development of Speedo suits, including the last generation of suits, the LZR Racer.
