Abstract

In the sample of eight male respondents, world record holders for seniors in the disciple of 100 metres, is determined the influence of biotype on the speed of running during the breaking of the world record, by regression analysis. All record holders were processed via statistical data processing starting from 1968., when electronic time measuring was introduced at the track and field competitions, until the last record was break in 2009. Biotype was represented by body weight, height and number of steps performed when the world record was broken.
